The Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of the NOVA University is the Portuguese institution that congregates teachers and researchers devoted to teaching, training, research and cooperation in Tropical Medicine and Global Health. The IHMT is the focal point for Health issues at the Comunidade de Países de Língua Portuguesa (CPLP, Community of Portuguese speaking Countries, including Brazil, Portuguese speaking African countries and Timor Lorosae).
