Climate change, armed conflicts, and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are increasingly interconnected global challenges. Environmental change is reshaping the distribution of disease vectors, while conflict and forced displacement severely disrupt prevention, diagnosis, and access to care. Together, these dynamics create a “triple threat” with profound implications for global health equity.
This event brings together experts from policy, academia, and humanitarian practice to explore how climate driven environmental changes and armed conflict influence the occurrence and spread of NTDs, with a particular focus on vector borne diseases such as leishmaniasis.
The event is organised by the Y IN NTD Group and is framed by the guiding principle:
One Planet, One Health, One Justice, One Peace
